Patricia Fenton, MA, University of Bath, UK

Whangārei writer and educator, Patricia Fenton, began her teaching career in New Zealand and later worked in international schools around the globe before being appointed to the International Baccalaureate Organisation (Cardiff, Wales) with responsibility for curriculum publications, professional development and school evaluation processes.

After returning to New Zealand, she completed a Diploma in Advanced Applied Writing through NorthTec, gaining the NZSA Northland Excellence Award. Her major project was a coming-of-age novel, Beyond the Rimu Grove, published in 2019. She followed up with War Bride, drawing on the real-life experiences of her late mother-in-law, Prudence Ashfield Fenton, and has now completed the sequel, After the War, published by Heritage Press in February 2025.

She has recently ventured into writing for children with a junior fiction novel, Dear Ruthie, inspired by a postcard sent to her mother during World War One.
